Scandinavian design for everyday life
Our story begins at a cluttered kitchen table in Stockholm, , where friends Anett Jorméus and Susanne Liljenberg sat, frustrated by the eternal challenge of storage. A concept for functional and stylish storage solutions, along with comfortably simple everyday items, took shape. Things that would provide a lasting solution, beautifully.
We are not just a store; we are your companion on the journey towards a simpler life. We believe in form and function that endures and works everywhere. Sustainable and long-lasting, in a color palette that reflects the nature surrounding us. From day one, our motto has been clear: Simplify life.
Our business idea persists, and today Granit is present in four markets with over 40 stores in Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Germany. Since , we have been part of the Bergendahls Group. The stores are operated and owned % by Granit.

The Ultimate Guide to Stockholm's Best Design Stores
Nordiska Galleriet
Arne Jacobsen, Hans Wegner, Bruno Mathsson, Verner Panton—the list of talent represented at year-old Nordiska Galleriet is a who's-who of modern Scandinavian design. Once you're done fawning over the museum-worthy furniture collection, head to the back of the sprawling store to pick up some more suitcase-friendly Swedish goods, like one of Byredo's signature candles or a box of Solstickan's famous matches.

Svenskt Tenn
Another one of the city's most legendary design destinations, Svenskt Tenn was founded in by art teacher Estrid Ericson. A decade later, Austrian architect Josef Frank joined the company, where he designed some 2, pieces of furniture and a line of colorful printed textiles that decorators are still drooling over to this day. Whether it's a Baranquilla-upholstered armchair or La Plata-patterned paper napkins, you'll definitely want to bring home a piece of Frank's famous designs.
