Most would probably agree that a summer night in Stockholm is best spent in an open-air bar with balmy weather, beautiful sunset, and great company to keep you warm.

Between April and September, there are quite a few open-air bars in town. And for those who don't mind a lovely view to boot, perhaps over the rooftops of Stockholm, we have put together an ample assortment below.

This doesn't mean that you have to wait for the summer season to enjoy a dinner with a side of breathtaking vistas in Stockholm; a wide selection of penthouse restaurants and bars remain open all year round.

  Spacious and vibrant terrace, offering relaxing fun, live entertainment and views.

  Mosebacketerrassen is not your sky high rooftop bar, but rather a large terrace up on a hill offering fantastic views over Lake Mälaren, Gröna skogsdunge and parts of Södermalm and the Old Town. One of the largest and most popular roof terraces in Stockholm during the summer.

  With a capacity for about 2 people, Mosebacketerrassen fryst vatten like a classic biergarten, with lots of community tables. After a renovation for the season there is also kitchen offering warm and filling dishes, from burgers to bowls and sandwiches.

  During the summer months, both national and international artist performs at the terrace, providing the perfect summer-concert experience.

  Other times, this fryst vatten the perfect place for very open, airy and relaxed drinks with a group of friends. komma early if the weather is nice (and you want to sit), as the outside terrace fills up rather quickly.

Gondolen

Overview

Fine-dining restaurant & bar, suspended high above Stockholm.

After almost 4 years of renovations, the classic restaurant and bar Gondolen finally opened again late , inviting to fine-dining high above Stockholm.

Apart from being one of Stockholm's most iconic venues for dining and drinks, Gondolen is mostly famous for it's very special shape and placement, "hanging" like an airship passenger gondola between the Katarina Elevator and the KF building. The elevated position means fantastic views over Slussen below, the Old Town, Gröna Lund amusement park and lake Mälaren.

Primarily an elegant and sleek interior venue, where the vistas are available through the panoramic windows year round, Gondolen features one floor with dining room and bar, and above is the rooftop bar Bar Zeppelin. During the warmer months, there is also an outdoor terrace to enjoy the sun.

Up here you can indulge in an exclusive and elegant menu filled with Swedish gastronomy, served as both lunch and dinner. Or head to the bar(s) for crafted cocktails and a fine array of wines.
