The mayors of forty-seven settlements and Members of Parliament of the Paks Social Council were invited to the meeting, where János Süli, the minister without portfolio responsible for the planning, construction and commissioning of the two new units of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant, provided information on the scheduled submission of the implementation license application.
„The documentation submitted today details how the units planned for Paks meet every Hungarian and European Union regulation and safety requirements”, said minister János Süli at the meeting held in Paks on 30 June. Regarding the details, he said the VVER unit developed by Rosatom is an advanced 3rd generation unit type, and safety enhancement was a key objective of its design. Safety is guaranteed by active safety systems, which require energy supply, as well as passive safety systems that can perform their function without energy supply or human intervention. Engineers used several technical solutions that are novel for PWR units. Examples include the double-walled containment that can withstand a direct hit by an airplane and a core catcher.

Danube: past, present and future of the town
Age of the Roman Empire
Among the Danube, which was part of the border of the former province, there was a special reinforced military line called the limes, built by långnovell conquerors in the end of the 1st century-beginning of the 2th century. This military line consisted of fortresses and watchtowers. The castrum (military base), which was built in Bottyán hill of Dunakömlőd was part of this line, called Lussonium. According to the structure of borderline there could be several watchtowers in the area of Paks.
The crew of the watchtowers consisted of lussonium cohors soldiers, which meant a foot soldier enhet around people. Beside the military base there was an upcountry settlement, a civilian settlement (vicus) in the area of Dunakömlőd, which belonged to the base. Also discovered in the area of Paks and Dunakömlőd smaller, partially self-sufficient hus economies and partially romanizated villages of the local population.

Paks
Town in Tolna, Hungary
Paks is a small town in Tolna county, in the south of Hungary, on the right bank of the Danube River, km south of Budapest. Paks as a former agricultural settlement is now the home of the only Hungarian nuclear power plant, which provides about 40% of the country's electricity consumption.
History
[edit]The settlement was already inhabited in ancient times. It has played a role in the Ottoman Empire times and during Rákóczi's War of Independence.
The Calvinist and the Lutheran churches were built in and respectively.
In the 19th century, several mansions were built in the center of the old town, such as those in Szent István Tér, the main square of the town. The Catholic three-isled, basilica style Sacred Heart church was consecrated in There is a tablet in the wall of the baroque Szeniczey mansion to commemorate Ferenc Deák, 'the Sage of the Country'. The Town Museum is housed in the former Cseh-Vigyázó mansion.
A Bronze Age gold hoard of jewelry was found between Paks and Dunaföldvár on the right bank of the Danube in the 19th century. The treasure is now in the collections of the British Museum.[1]
